NBC UNIVERSAL'S DIVERSITY OUTREACH EXPO
NBC Universal will be holding an all-day event designed to give individuals from underrepresented groups tools and information to further a career in the entertainment industry.
Various entertainment organizations will be present to promote the resources they offer. Simultaneously, there will be panel discussions and workshops on all aspects of the entertainment industry - from interviewing for a network position to writing a pilot or getting cast in one. This event will open doors and encourage Los Angeles area individuals to get the tools they need to build a successful career in the entertainment industry.

THE 2005/2006 NBC NEWS ASSOCIATES PROGRAM
This highly competitive program identifies outstanding aspiring journalists who bring diverse backgrounds to news production and news coverage. The News Associates program is a fast-track opportunity for people with the goal to learn news gathering and production skills. It is not designed to train people who wish to be on-air reporters.
Requirements: Highly motivated individuals; Commitment to television news production as a career; Bachelor's degree, along with demonstrated experience in journalism; Advanced degree in journalism is strongly preferred; Solid writing skills; Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; Proven leadership skills.
Salary: $33,600
